Ancon Hill is the best viewpoint in Panama City, with amazing views of all the city’s major landmarks. Ancon Hill is also visible from almost anywhere in the city and it stands proudly above everything else with its huge Panama flag flying high. The flag has been flying 365 days year round since 1977 and is as huge as a basketball court! To reach the top of the hill, you need to do a pretty long, but easy hike. You can enjoy the panoramic view below and also explore the jungle and wildlife such as nine-banded armadillos, sloths, deer, and many different kinds of birds. This is a nice place to spend a day away from the sounds of the city. It is surprising to find a green place like Ancon Hill right in the middle of Panama, but you feel like you have reached someplace far from inhabitation. The view from the top is spectacular. The photos you take from here will always be postcard-ready.
