This must-see natural attraction is a place where time and space stand still. How to reach

If you drive in a private car it is just about 22 to 25 minutes driveto the caves

A taxi will take around the same time and will charge you approxinately 120NZ$

Bus ride wil be of 15 to 20 minutes and will charge 12 NZ$

Tips

  • It is advisable to take a local guide to get more insight on the place 
  • It is better to book cave tour online as the seats may be booked during rush season
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothes as there are quite a good journey involved
  • The shoes must have comfortable grippers underneath
  • Camera is allowed
  • To fulfill  your gastronomic taste you have the caves centre serving marvellous items for a sumptuous lunch
  • It is better to carry warm clothing as the temperature vary from 12 to 14 degrees
  • One can take wheelchairs and pram inside the Ruakari caves
