How to reach

21.1 kms from the city centre. 

'It takes almost an hour via Bohmu Baa Htoo route. 

Many taxis take trips to Shwedgon daily. You can book a taxi, prices are inflated during festive season, so be ready to negotiate.

  • Check out the beautiful pavilions. 
  • You can find a quiet hall to meditate. 
  • To get the view of golden light here, visit either during sunrise or sunset. 
  • Visitor centre is opened from 8:00 am - 9:00 pm. 
  • At the southern entrance, you can find wheelchairs and elevators too. 
  • Water is available at coolers, however, you can bring your own bottle if you want to. 
  • Carts loaded with food items can be spotted.
  • There are restaurants nearby if you wish to try local cuisine.
