How to reach

It is about 48 kms from Vatnajokull. you can take bus number 51 that would cost you 2000 ISK.

Tips

  • wear warm clothes and hat since it wil be very cold
  • recommended to plan the trip on summer to have a good hot view of icebergs
  • bring binoculars to watch birds and animals
  • restrooms will be opened only after 10:00 am and closed by 7:00 pm
  • for boat tours both online and site tickets are available
  • suggested to go for a zodiac boat ride to enjoy with your family
  • restaurants and cafe are very near to the lake
