About Chester Zoo

Another family must-see place is the Chester Zoo. A zoo that houses many rare, endangered species in lush, sylvan and manicured environs. At 125 acres it is one among UK 's largest zoos with a total land area of 400 acres.  An environment-conscious and hardworking team whose concerted efforts have ensured the preservation of biodiversity across the globe and have been instrumental in introducing award-winning initiatives like the Act For Wildlife campaign. Education and conservation rank uppermost for those at this zoo as they are ceaselessly committed to ensuring the best standards of hygiene and care for the animals. and protecting both native and non-native species.

Visitors are encouraged to become wildlife champions and the staff tries hard to establish a connection between the visitors and the natural world. Support for the bees, butterflies, hedgehogs, and many such animals is attempted in order to educate the homo sapiens to defend the natural world and the wildlife that has many species on the brink of becoming extinct. The zoo has several sections each housing a particular type or class of animals.

A variety of tours, animal talks, and up and close encounters ensures one with a day full of wild adventure.   A truly family-oriented experience awaits one and all, with lots of eat-outs, and adventure play areas kids can never get bored. Do also check out the Zoofari Monorail and the Lazy River Boat Trip. Finally, pick up some interesting and unique souvenir at the gift shop.
