About Omodos Village

Blessed by Bacchus

Steeped in history and ''mellow fruitfulness'', this village is a ''close bosom-friend of the maturing sun'', ‘’conspiring with him’’ to fill every vine with fruit and every fruit with ‘’ripeness to the core’’. Yes – the poet John Keats would have been blissfully happy here. So will you, when you walk its stone-cobbled pathways, its flowery yards, and trellised vines. Take in the views of the surrounding mountains. They are believed to hide a cave with a wooden cross, where a candle burnt once upon a time, a long time ago. This village is picturesque and productive, cultivating the best wines in Cyprus. The most famous - 'Afames' derives its name from the mountain to the east of this hamlet. After you have sipped divine nectar in sweet intoxication, there's Chantilly lace, brocade, and embroidered handicrafts to take back home. ‘Soutzoukos’, ‘Palouse’, ‘KKiofterka’, ‘Koulourka’ – we won’t give you hints. Omodos awaits.
