The simplest and quickest way to get to Volubilis is to hire a grand taxi
You will not get Taxis or buses at Volubilis so the best option is to make arrangements with the taxi driver for your return journey as well.
You can also choose to go by walking if the weather is nice, as it’s a lovely one-hour walk between Moulay Idriss and Volubilis.
Best is to take a guided tour.
One can get the guide at the entrance gate, which is mostly cheap and well informed.
To know more about the history of ruins visit the small well-equipped museum right at the entrance of the site.
There is a private hammam which has a caldarium (hot room) with visible steam pipes, a tepidarium (warm room) and a frigidarium (cold room), as well as a solarium.
Stand on one of the two twin hills of Moulay Idriss, to capture a panoramic view of Volubilis.
Toilets can be found on the site.
Wander freely around the place to appreciate the architecture.
Be respectful with the locals and don't click pictures without permission.
Don’t forget to bring your camera.
You can bring food/snacks if you want to stay there for a longer period.
Visit early morning to avoid crowds.
Wear comfortable shoes.
Carry an ample amount of water to avoid dehydration.
Make sure you have in your backpack a protective suncream, sunglasses, rainwear, warm clothes, sufficient food, and drink.
