Often, small towns have a certain appeal to them that is endearing to almost everyone. One such town is Khotyn, which translates to “welcome!” It is no wonder, that the Khotyn fortress is such a popular tourist destination. The State Historical and Architectural Reserve Khotyn fortress is a medieval castle situated in the scenic small town in the Chernivtsi region. The Khotyn fortress boasts of being one of the most important cultural, architectural, and tourist centers in the city of Bukovina. Beautifully well preserved, it has long been close to the hearts of researchers, lovers of ancient times, and tourists.

After taking into consideration, the long-running history and tradition of the town, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine established the State Historical and Architectural Reserve "Khotyn fortress.” In 2011, the castle was declared the winner of the All-Ukrainian campaign "Seven Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, fortresses, and palaces."
