About Museum of the Danube Delta

 The most popular attraction at the Museum of the Danube Delta is the aquarium. Two cylindrical tanks of 150 tonnes of water present a collection of indigenous invertebrates, fish, and coral reefs. How to reach

Wondering how can you reach the Museum of the Danube Delta, well you can either take a bus, train a metro or even a taxi whatever is convenient for you, The best way is to take a bus this trip takes about four and a half hours. The bus is operated by Augustina SRL and the station is on Calea Plevnei, number 242A. There’s a bus every two hours, from 7 in the morning till 5 in the evening. Or you can even take a train, which is a bit longer route but if you want it, you can take the 780 Express Bus from the airport which will take you to Gara de Nord, Bucharest’s main train station. The train leaves towards Tulcea twice a day, at 5:05 in the morning and 3:10 in the afternoon.

Tips

  • Make sure you will be spending an entire day here.
  • Danube Delta has a large predatory fish where you can see them alive as well as the beautiful scenery.
  • It also has a home for 250 bird species and is well known for being one of the richest ornithological faunas in the world.
  • Do not forget to try the local food items which are easily available on the side of the streets.
  • Please plan your trip well and don't mix it with other attractions if you want to go at a pace.
  • Don't forget anti-mosquito sprays and creams because you will have to protect yourself against these pesky little insects. 
  • You will travel mainly on the water; therefore if you suffer from seasickness, take the necessary precautions.
  • Don’t drink water from the Danube.
  • Carry proper equipment with you: rubber boots, raincoat, warm clothing, lanterns and binoculars for bird watching.
  • Expect to eat a lot of fish, as this is the main ingredient in restaurant menus.
