This theatre has gained fame since the olden times due to its architectural symmetry and wonderful acoustics. This unique and enormous architecture was built by the architect Polykleitos. It was built on the side of a mountain and overlooking the sanctuary of Asclepius.

How to reach

The distance from the city center to the Theatre of Epidavros is 585 meters. 

It is at a walkable distance. Takes around 7 minutes to walk.

If you take a taxi, you can reach within 5 minutes and will cost around 2€ to 4€

  • Go to the top of the theatre, you get to see the most beautiful view.
  • From the top whisper to someone at the base of the theatre, you will be heard.
  • Seeing a Greek Tragedy in the theater at night will be a game-changer if you get the opportunity do not miss it.
  • Seeking to snack, find an open-air snack bar directly outside the Great Theater.
  • You can spend a peaceful time here as the crowd is less here compared to other places.
