About Acropolis of Lindos

What do you think about visiting a cozy village set against a picturesque backdrop? The wonderful village of white cubist houses is known as the Lindos of Rhodes. The highlight of this village is its crowning jewel, the beautiful archaeological site, Acropolis of Lindos. This is perhaps one of the most gorgeous archaeological sites in the country of Greece. It comprises the spell-binding traces of various civilizations that have inhabited the region for over 5,000 years.

To reach the Acropolis, one has to walk up the medieval steep staircase to the 116-meter-high clifftop. The beautifully preserved ruins date back to the Hellenistic era. If you are not sure about walking up the cliffside, then you can hire a donkey ride and let the patient animal take you up to the lovely Acropolis. Ensure that you carry along adequate liquids to keep yourself hydrated in the hot summer heat of Greece. Also, there are no stores located atop the Acropolis where you can purchase water. So, it is always better to be prepared well in advance.

An extremely popular tourist attraction, the Lindos village is about 35 km away from the island of Rhodes. In addition to the Acropolis, ensure that you visit the village’s three beautiful beaches as well.
