One of the many things that Argentinians do right is to express their pride and passion towards their country. This passion is visible in the preservation and display of the San Ignacio Miní ruins. It gets its name from the valley that it is situated in.
In 1632, there were numerous missions founded by the Jesuits during the Spanish colonial era in Argentina. As compared to the other mission ruins, this is the most well preserved and complete. There are numerous beautifully carved ornamentations that are still visible in today’s age. It is a very popular attraction for both locals and tourists. Amidst the ruins, there are a few interactive panels that offer multilingual audio. More so, there is a small museum located onsite that will shed further light on the mission in its former glory.
The admission to these ruins also includes a visit to the neighboring ruins at Santa Ana, Loreto, and Santa María la Mayor. It is well worth a visit! There is a beautiful show of light and sounds that can’t be missed for sure.
