The evolution and journey of man and nations are all well documented across the globe. They are available for one and all to mull over. But, where does one go to quench their thirst for knowledge regarding the nation’s natural history?
This thirst is quenched by the immense collection of the country’s creatures in the Bernardino Rivadavia Natural Sciences Argentine Museum. There are 13 rooms brimming with fun facts and exhibits about these creatures. Apart from this, the museum also houses rooms pertaining to geology, astronomy, aquatic world, reptiles, arthropods, birds, and plants, among others.
Since 1812, these materials and artifacts are being collated by the different provinces around the country. More so, the museum has a paleontology room that will put Dr. Ross Gellar’s, from the popular sitcom Friends, collection to shame. One of the most prominent pieces of evidence of prehistoric mammals is the 10-meter-long skeleton of an Amargasaurus, which was discovered in the Neuquén province.
It is 6.4 km from the city centre. You can catch bus no 65, 92, 99, 105, 112, 124, 135, 141, 146 to reach the destination. The bus ride will range from ARS 3 to ARS 8 .
