About Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi

It is one of the most popular attractions in the country. The Nahuel Huapi National Park is the oldest of its kind in the country. It was set up in 1934 and is spread across 7500 sq. km.

How to reach

It is 66.2 km from Bariloche and can be reached by bus. Board bus no. 10, 20, 55 or 55 from the bus stand. It will cost you ARS 20.

You can also hire a private cab which will cost you approx. ARS 49 to ARS 70 depending upon the traffic.

Tips

  • This place is known for barbecued meats, make sure you try some.
  • Spend all your day here and consider taking a ferry ride to Puerto Frias.
  • Make sure you enjoy paragliding, mountain biking and rock-climbing here.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, as it involves a lot of walking here.
  • Wear light clothes, wide-brimmed sunglasses and a hat.
  • Enjoy skiing in Cerro Catedral.
  • There are a variety of chocolates here, purchase the best ones.
  • Carry an ample amount of water and food.
