About Botanical Garden of Curitiba

The Botanical Garden of Curitiba or Jardim Botânico de Curitiba to the locals is a landmark of the city. From the entrance, visitors are greeted with a veritable carpet of flowers.

The garden is easily recognized by its main greenhouse. It was built in Art-Nouveau style and looks like the Crystal Palace in London. Within its glass and metal frame of 458 square metres, you will find tropical plants. Study native plants at the Botanic Museum set amidst the French-style gardens. The museum is the fourth-largest herbarium in Brazil. Catch a play at the theatre or play a round of tennis on the courts. Fountains, waterfalls, lakes, and forest are perfect for strolling or cycling by.

Situated behind the greenhouse is a museum honouring Franz Krajcberg. Learn about environmental conservation from this Polish Brazilian artist’s life and work in the auditorium, classrooms, and exhibitions.

Brazilian, French, and Polish combine to make the Botanical Garden of Curitiba a must-see.
