Located in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico, Zona Arqueológica de Cholula is a large man-carved mountain and building. It has the distinction of being known as the biggest archaeological pyramid site in the New World and the biggest pyramid in the world. Zona Arqueológica de Cholula is an astounding 180 ft tall and is 1,480 by 1,480 ft wide. Most of the pyramids were built one on the other during the time of reconstruction and nearly 8km of the tunnels were dug beneath the pyramid with just 800 metres visible to the visitors. Also, some of the ancient layers of the structure are open to visitors. Zona Arqueológica de Cholula was used as a temple, built in honour of Quetzalcoatl, an ancient deity.
