About Tropenmuseum

Often, museums narrate stories of a time that has passed, via paintings or items of that era. Unlike most centers of its kind, there is a museum that is dedicated to the ethnography of the world. How interesting is that? It is no wonder that tourists from all across the globe visit this popular attraction. Founded in 1864, the Tropenmuseum is located at Amsterdam. This is one of the biggest exhibition centers in the city. It can hold up to eight permanent exhibitions along with an ongoing series of temporary exhibitions.

The collection themes within this unique museum are universally known to man, like celebration, conflict, seduction, or prayer. Each of the items placed in these collections narrates their own story. Through narration and music, you will discover the museum’s profound yet simple underlying message. That all the people around the globe are the same, irrespective of the superficialities separating them! Now, who would want to miss out on such a revelation?
