One of Europe's largest botanical gardens, this place draws over half a million visitors each year. What makes it so ideal for people to come to see it is the large grounds with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The main garden is built over 40 hectares and is home to over 16000 species. It contains an Arboretum, a Rock Garden, a Rhododendron Valley, a Japanese Glade, and a few Greenhouses. The garden is famous also for its collection of over 1500 orchids for you to marvel over, as well as its rare Eastern Island Tree. The Rork Garden also has a rather large waterfall. The place is particularly recommended if you are looking for some peace and quiet, and want to spend some time looking at nature and allowing yourself to stop and smell the flowers in bloom. The top of the garden also has the Haberget looking point which offers great views of the harbor and the old fortress of the city. You can also stop at the Garden shop for some seeds to take back home to create your own Eden.
By tram:
Take trams no 1, 2, 4, 6, or 7 from Göteborg Brunnsparken to Göteborg Botaniska Trädgården. It'll cover 3.1 km in 14 minutes and costs between 28 to 45 SEK. After that, it's a 543 m walk to the main entrance of the Botaniska.
By bus:
Take buses no 16, 42, 52, 87, 760, 764 or 765 from Göteborg Brunnsparken to Annedalskyrkan. It'll cover 6.3 km in 12 minutes and costs between 28 to 40 SEK. After that, it's a 583 m walk to the Botaniska.
