Orchids are rather common, but always a beautiful sight to behold in Singapore. The national Orchid Garden is a reflection of this very statement. A part of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, the Orchid Garden is a protected site. You will see various different types of orchids as well as the stages in which they grow. Some specific varieties are grown as tributes to various world leaders, with the nomenclature done as per the personalities of each leader. Even if you are not interested in the science of the plants, you will love the cool breeze that carries the scent of orchids. It is a great spot to sit for while and walk though the gardens marvelling the colours and the sights at display in front of you. The garden is divided into four zones based on the colours of orchids. You will see the Spring zone, the Summer zone, the Autumn zone and finally the Winter zone. The orchids are supported by other flora in the same colour scheme to give you a fuller and more natural habitat to observe.
