About Ilha de Tavira

Leave behind the busy city life by stepping onto the white sandy beach of the Ilha de Tavira or Tavira Island. This is a stunning tropical island near the town of Tavira, Algarve. One look at this island is all it takes to believe why it is considered to be one of the best beaches in the entire Algarve. The island is perfect to take romantic long walks with your partner. Although, if you walk long enough you may reach the nudist area of the beach. This is known to be one of the best nudist beaches in the Algarve.

Usually, people stay in the same part of the beach that they arrived in. But if you do decide to explore then you may come across unoccupied portions of the beach. You can have that section of the island to yourself! At least till the time, someone else doesn’t get the same idea as you.
The island has three beaches on it. You will be spoilt for choice for sure. The first beach is the Praia da Ilha de Tavira. This is located on the east side and considered to be the main beach. The second one is the Praia da Terra Estrellita, which is in the center and is quieter than its former counterpart. While the third beach is on the west side and called the Praia do Barril. This one is mostly known for an old tuna factory and an anchor cemetery. What better way to rejuvenate oneself than to spend a lazy day basking under the sun, and the waves crashing in the background?
