About Natural History Museum, London

This National History Museum of London brings to its doors over four million visitors every year. Located in South Kensington, this popular museum is a treasure trove for nature, biodiversity and taxonomy enthusiasts. You will be able to explore over 70 million items that form the museums' collection. The most famous of these is the giant life-size recreation of a dinosaur skeleton that greets you as soon as you enter the museum. The exhibits like the Life and Earth Galleries, the Wildlife Garden and the geological collections will have you marveling at the richness of planet in a snap. You can dedicate as much time to this place as you like, as the breadth of the museum will keep you engaged all day. Along with the displays, there are several interactive sections. There are often also talks by experts ongoing at the museum, along with film and documentary screenings at the Attenborough Studio. Currently, there is also a lunar model library on display. The best part of the museum is that it is free for all to enter, and if you wish to contribute to the maintenance of the museum, you can make a donation on site. The museum also has a lively cafe and an interesting gift shop to stop by.

Bus from the city center-  Bus no.9 or Bus no.14- Fare will be 2EURO.

Subway from the city center- From Embankment Station to South Kensington Station- Fare will be 5EURO

Taxi from the city center- Time taken will be 7 minutes. The fare will be 13EURO.

  • Although entry to the museum is free, there are some exhibits for which you might have to pay a fee.
  • Personal photography is allowed without flash, for commercial photography you need prior permission.
  • Try to carry a map as the museum is huge and you would want to know where you are going and what you want to visit
  • You are allowed to bring your own food and there is also a cafe on the site if you want to eat.
  • You can check-in excess baggage with the museum for a fee to freely roam the museum without hassle.
