About Thracian Tomb of Sveshtari

Bulgaria holds many mysteries, among them, the Thracian Tomb of Sveshtari discovered in the early 1980s. The rare tomb near Sveshtari, Bulgaria was found by explorers inside a mound covered in grass.
The Thracian Tomb dates back to the 3rd century BC. Behind a modern entrance, you’ll step through to the original interior and inner chamber. It is utterly unique with its 10 female sculptures carved into the white stone walls. They are half-human and half-plant. This is the only example of this type of Hellenistic style in the Thracian lands.
The Thracians were considered a cult culture with very little written historical records. Perhaps this tomb will provide some insight into their beliefs.
