About Ars Electronica Centre

Ars Electronica Centre is a futuristic museum with the specific intent of hands-on, interactive exhibitions.  This philosophy reflects in their themes and the methods of display. No matter the occasion on your holiday, you will enjoy this unique museum experience. The museum is at the Danube riverfront and is a sight to behold. The main gallery has various mind-labs and robo-labs, and a loft cafeteria. Some unique 3D constructions and a spacelab will also bring you a visual and auditory treat. It is a modern science museum for visitors of all ages, and depending on the time of the year that you visit it, you will also be able to participate in its many festivals and ceremonies. It also hosts media arts and future planning competitions.

How to reach

A convenient way to get here is via public transportation.
One can get here by tram line 1,2 and 3 which stops in Rudolfstrasse, from where it’s just a short walk to the Ars Electronica Center. 
Bus lines 33, 33a, 38 or 102 also stops nearby.

 

Tips

  • The museum is lit up beautifully at night and makes for a nice picture.
  • Lockers are available in the cloakroom.
  • No animals (except assistant dogs) are permitted in the museum.
  • Barrier-free access for people in wheelchairs.
  • Do some research before you go and try less crowded days and hours.
  • Should wear comfortable shoes.
  • Visitors parking is available.
  • Carry water bottles and some snacks.
