Sedona sits on the county line between the Coconino and Yavapai counties in the state of Arizona. The town itself only boasts around 10,000 citizens, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in grandeur. Its main attraction is the Red Rocks, a group of red sandstone peaks and walls called the Keystone Thrust. Some of the walls are up to 3,000 feet high, with the highest point La Madre Mountain, at 8,154 feet.
The Red Rocks are one of the most photographed natural formations, including Cathedral Rock and Bell Rock. You may recognize them from several movies made in the area. When the rising or setting sun hits them the rock formations appear to glow in brilliant shades of red and orange. Sedona and Red Rocks form the perfect backdrop to hiking, bicycling, camping, and even concerts. Fishing is restricted in the area. Some people report a very spiritual feeling in the area. The locals call those vortexes and claim they emanate life energy. Don't miss out on this opportunity to come and find out for yourself.
