About The Sacred Valley

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is a crucial area for the Incan Empire and it functioned as both an agricultural, spiritual, and political center for them. One of the most important destinations in South America is the valley of the Urubamba River and is known worldwide as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The valley is where you'll find beautiful traditional Andean towns. There you can find ancient Incan settlements scattered along the valley, in the middle of mountains belonging to the chains of the Andes Mountain range.

How to reach

Buses depart every day from Cusco to all of the cities of the Sacred Valley every 15 minutes towards Ollantaytambo. Bus tickets cost around S/. 15 soles. It is the cheapest way to travel to the valley.

Tips

  • The Tourist Ticket of Cusco will allow you to enter 16 sites, including Pisac, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, and other archaeological sites and museums in Cusco and the Sacred Valley.
  • There is a partial ticket that includes the cost of the archaeological sites.
  • Dress comfortably for an adventure trip.
  • Don't forget to wear good hiking or walking shoes.
  • Pack water bottles and snacks as it is difficult to these in the rustic areas.
